Light My FIre

POWR's exhibit "Light My Fire" opens Friday, Sept. 6, 2022 at Lander Art Center. An opening reception will be held at 6 pm on the 6th. You'll be able to meet the artists and enjoy the art work, and find out which songs our artists have found inspirational. The exhibit will run though Oct. 29.

This exhibit's theme is "Light My Fire", inspired by the classic Doors hit. Each artist has been asked to respond artistically to one or two songs of their choosing. We think you'll find the results quite interesting.

In addition to individual work, "Light My Fire" has inspired a group collaboration, involving the digging and processing of native clay--that is, clay found right here in the Lander, WY area. You'll see the results of this collaboration--pieces fired in the ancient method of gently laying pieces into a pit and using animal dung for fuel.
